MEA Attestation – General
Normal Attestation (General)
This is done for all the countries which are not a member of Hague Convention and where Apostille is not accepted.
For these countries, after State authentication (HRD/Home Department), the documents need to be attested by the MEA (Ministry of External Affairs) followed by the Embassy/Consulate of the destination country.
Countries Requiring General Attestation
All countries that are NOT members of the Hague Convention require General MEA Attestation. This includes most Middle Eastern countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, etc.
Process:
- Step 1: State Authentication (HRD/Home Department)
- Step 2: MEA Attestation (Ministry of External Affairs)
- Step 3: Embassy Attestation (of the destination country)
